Here’s a list of the TOOLS, and Materials needed to buff away chalky oxidation ,  and remove many (if not all) scratches on the hull of your boat!

Look no further! At Boat Buffing.com we’ve got you covered. With our extensive range of tools and resources,

 Tools needed:

1. Buffer

2. Buffing pad

3. Buffing compound

4. Extension cord/cords

5. Fiber mask / gloves are optional

How much does a buffer weigh?   The buffer that you’ll probably be using (a standard buffer) will weigh about 7 pounds.

How young can a person be and STILL get the job done?

The youngest person that I’VE had buffing on a hull is about 12 years of age. The oldest (willing) person  is about 80. Age (as in many things) doesn’t seem to be the determiner. It’s about personal conditioning, and WILLINGNESS.  I’m of the opinion that a person who’s “reasonably” fit, can do this. These are MY opinions only, and “let your body” be your guide.

Buffing Compound

Buffing compound  is the 3rd thing that you’ll need to rmove the oxidation from the hull of boats that are  gelcoated .

We’ve always used the compound named Aqua-Buff. (and recommend) the buffing compound  “Aqua-Buff 1000” .Aqua-Buff 1,000 is ALSO useful for removing scratches from the hull, but MORE about “scratch removal” in a  little bit.

Aqua-buff 1000

Aqua-Buff 1,000

We use Aqua-Buff 1,000 100% of the time as the GO~TO starter compound for oxidation removal, and polishing.

It’s course enough that it can ALSO useful for removing scratches from the hull

but MORE about “scratch removal” in a  little bit.

Aqua-buff 2000

Aqua-Buff 2,000

YES,  there’s an “Aqua buff 2000” . I MY opinion Aqua-Buff 2,000 is really “all about” Polishing, and NOT oxidation fremoval or “appearince” retoration.
